An obvious reference to the Nicktoon SpongeBob SquarePants, which premiered a month after this episode aired. Two comics that form the picture of the Nicktoon CatDog are visible on the top shelf above Arnold as he exits.
- Harold was eating donuts that came from "Shrunkin' Donuts", which is a parody of the real life Dunkin' Donuts fast food chain.
