Hey Arnold! Season One Opening Credits
The intro
Russian intro Hey Arnold!-2
The Russian version of the intro (audio only).
The theme music of the Nickelodeon animated television series Hey Arnold!. It plays on every episode (expect for the holiday-themed specials alongside a few).
Its duration is approximately 49 seconds. Starting with Season 4, the theme music was remixed. The intro's animation when Helga says "Arnold" was slightly sped up and changed from E flat minor to F minor.
From seasons 1 until 3, the Yamaha DX7 internal factory patch "Sax BC" and Roland D-50 internal patch "Slap Bass n Brass" were heard.
In seasons 4-5, the Roland D-50 internal patches "Horn Section" and "Jazz Guitar Duo" and modified version of the Roland D-50 internal patch "Horn Section" were heard.
In the holiday-themed episode ("Arnold's Christmas"), the Roland D-50 internal patch "Fantasia" was heard.
Several foreign-language dubs including the Russian dub have the characters (other than Helga) can actually be heard emitting various noises (no actual words).
Intro[]
The intro begins with Nadine jumpropes with Sheena and Phoebe at night. Arnold goes outside (using a flashlight) to meet up with some of his male classmates such as Gerald and Stinky. They then go to confront the girls (with Ruth), led by Helga, who has been calling Arnold's name throughout the opening sequence.
It was animated by Toon-Us-In Animations Inc. and U.S. Animation.
It has been animated using digital ink and paint since the first episode, despite the fact that the series as a whole used traditional cel animation for the first three seasons.

Trivia[]
- Helga’s calling of Arnold’s name throughout the theme song is reused from the pilot episode.
- Despite appearing earlier in the theme song, Brainy mysteriously disappears after the show’s title appear.
- The characters appear to switch between their earlier designs and their designs from the later seasons throughout the opening.
- On the album versions of the theme songs, the kids don't all say "Hey Arnold!" together the way they do in the TV versions. Helga instead says "Hey Arnold!" one last time, followed by Arnold asking "Huh?"
Goofs[]
- Harold's eyes are white instead of yellow like they are in episodes.
- At one point, Nadine's berets are yellow like her hair instead of magenta.
- When the boys are walking:
- Eugene’s shirt is shown to be a long-sleeve instead of a short-sleeve at one point.
- Harold’s shirt is the same light-blue color as his jacket instead of white.
- Stinky is missing his spiked bracelets.
- When Helga passes by Arnold on the bus, her sleeves are pink instead of white.
- When Helga calls Arnold's name while standing in front of "ARNOLD" in chalk writing on the street, her lip movements do not match with her voice. This was corrected when the theme song was revamped for season 4.
- When the boys confront the girls, Harold's big tooth switches from the left side of his mouth to the right.
- When the girls confront the boys, Rhonda's red shoes change their appearance.
- When the boys and the girls are standing face-to-face with each other, Sid and Eugene’s positions have switched from when they was initially walking.
