Unlike other episodes with rain of thunderstorms, this one uses live-action rain layered over the exterior shots instead of just simply animating the rain on cels. This technique was often used by Disney in their animated features and shorts, with the final one to do so being Beauty and the Beast in 1991.
During the end credits if you hear closely, there are some lines that weren't said in the actual episode such as Stinky saying "Climb on, girls!"
This is the last 11-minute episode of Season 3 in production order.
Principal Wartz sings the Mexican song La Cucaracha.
As seen in the greenhouse, Phil's rescue raft is named "Titanic". Ironic, considering that the Titanic is infamous for sinking.
While the kids realize Mr. Simmons dangles helplessly from the ladder, he can be heard singing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".
At the end of the episode, Principal Wartz sings "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans", apropos of nothing. Coincidentally, this episode was made several years before Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.
Continuity[]
The greenhouse from "Biosquare" appears again, rebuilt.
Mr. Simmons is singing the song from the play Rats from the episode "Quantity Time".
