Helga's snow-Arnold has five carrots on the left and four on the right, just as Arnold is usually drawn with five "spikes" of hair on the left and four on the right.
Mr. Hyunh reveals he’s from Vietnam, something he left out of the Christmas Special (although the clues all pointed to it), and that he was born after 1949, which means he was younger than 26 when he sent his daughter to America after what appeared to be the fall of Saigon.
Production Notes[]
This episode features the track known as "Snow", composed by Jim Lang, both at the start and end of the episode (also replacing the end credits music).
Continuity[]
This episode takes place after Heat, as the rain can be seen during the opening shot.
Whether the events between both episodes follow immediately is unclear, as Heat likely took place in the summer and Snow takes place in the winter.
When the boarding house's furnace malfunctions, the same group of 5 boarders that appear in Heat look out through the main door and various windows.
Cultural References[]
Grandpa calls Arnold "Nanook", a reference to the documentary Nanook of the North, often considered to be the very first documentary film.
Morals[]
Balance work and play.
Don't overwork yourself, put some time aside and take breaks once in a while.
Ideally all people -and especially kids- should have recreation time, even when due to personal circumstances this could prove very hard in practice.
