This episode, along with its sister, premiered in Canada on September 26, 2000, nearly four years before its premiere in the United States.
This episode and "Grandpa's Packard" have never aired on Nickelodeon as re-release in the United States, though they did premiere on Nicktoons as re-release.
This episode, along with "Grandpa's Packard", were the final half-hour aired in the 8 years of Hey Arnold!. (Though it was not intended to be.)
The background music for "Never Let Go Of Hope" from "Stuck in a Tree" is played before Phoebe farts.
It is revealed that when Harold laughs hard, he wets his pants.
Mr. Simmons accidentally says 'fart' twice:
The first: (insert the one with 'chart')
The second: "What do you say we join the class and the rest of the school and forget about what just happened and put this little episode behind us forever? Let’s move on and make a brand-new fart." (He was meaning to say "start".)
This episode is frequently misattributed for having the last line of the series (in terms of airdate).
There is a deleted scene where Gerald speaks to Phoebe in her room before Helga and after Mr. Simmons. [citation needed]
According to Helga, Phoebe farts all night when she sleeps over at the former's house.
Due to Harold making fun of Phoebe in the entire episode, this episode gives a bad moral stating the fact it is okay to take advantage of another person's embarrassing situation as shown by Harold twerking and laughing at Phoebe in school.
Moral: It's best to confront the problem and humiliation head on instead of hiding from it.
