General[]

  • According to the news anchor, "Better Not Touch My Gal" came out in 1954.
    • Other songs mentioned: "Magic Fingers" and "The Doll Can Swing".
  • The news anchor who reports on Dino and Don's break-up bares a resemblance to Drew Pickles from "Rugrats".
  • Grandpa has been listening to Dino Spumoni since the 1940s.
  • Gerald can play the piano.
  • When Don is singing his song for Gerald, a painting of a young blonde Don with the words "It's a Wrap!" can be seen hanging on the wall.

Airing[]

  • On international broadcasts, this episode is paired with "Biosquare", but in the US, it was first aired along with "Runaway Float".

Production Notes[]

  • This is the last episode with Toran Caudell as the (speaking) voice of Arnold before Phillip Van Dyke took over the role in Seasons 2 and 3.
  • On the Partners VHS (which has longer credits due to more episodes and this episode is also the last one in that tape), the song "You Better Not Touch My Gal" is extended, so that after Dino finishes singing, Grandpa and Grandma sing their rendition of that song.

Cultural References[]

  • One of the acts Arnold and Gerald attempt to perform is a Punch & Judy puppet show.
