Councilman Gladhand is voiced by John O'Hurley, who’s best known as J. Peterman in the TV series Seinfeld. Gladhand also resembles very closely his voice actor.
This is the second episode to guest star a cast member from Seinfeld since Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine Benes) as Miss Felter in "Crush on Teacher".
Councilman Gladhand said he would do something "ex post facto"; loosely translated, it means "after the fact". The US Constitution prohibits the passing of any "ex post facto law", which is a law making something done in the past illegal.
This is the last 11-minute episode of season 4 in production order.
The man holding a chicken who yells "Mr. Green for councilman!" is actually Mr. Purdy, in his first physical appearance.[1]
When Councilman Gladhand asks Arnold if he’s had experience helping with elections, he tells him that he helped Gerald win class president at school.
