The title is a self-parody of the show's name Hey Arnold!.
Harold previously had his appendix removed.
Patty has sat by herself at lunch since the 2nd grade.
The plot of this episode is loosely based on the 1955 film Marty. Coincidentally, Mr. Green is based on Ernest Borgnine's character from that movie.
Lila and Ruth can be seen talking together, both of whom being direct love interests of Arnold. Gerald and Phoebe are also seen talking together, as their voices are briefly heard.
Several running gags are seen in this episode.
Helga talking to her locket and admitting her feelings to Arnold
Brainy being the only one to hear it and stand right next to Helga, who then punches him in the face.
Stinky and Sid making jokes, with Sid constantly repeating the "punch line" ("And send ya straight to the hospital" when Stinky makes any remark about what couple happen if someone danced with Patty)
The next time Rhonda has a party is in "Cool Party".
Patty and Rhonda would later develop a friendship in the Season 4 episode "Polishing Rhonda". Before the two were never seen to really interact, bringing the question as to why Patty was invited. It's not likely the entire school was invited, as characters like Wolfgang and his posse aren't there; however, according to Stinky, he said that Wolfgang spilled a glass of punch on his pants.
