First episode in which Grandma displays her spy-like abilities.
Grandma asks Arnold to call her by the name of "Chief", and assigns him the name "Agent 9".
It's also implied that Grandma doesn't have a drive license.
Arnold had a chance to go to the aquarium when he was in 1st grade, but couldn't because he was sick with the Chicken Pox.
In their last visit the kids had a chance to see a penguin named Stuart, a sea snail named Slimo and Lock Jaw.
This is the only episode that depicts vomiting on-screen, when the aquarium night guard keeps feeding cookies to a penguin that literally tosses them.
Airing[]
Ironically, this episode would feature Arnold and his grandma rescuing a turtle over a week before CBS aired its last episode of its legendary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series after 10 seasons. In contrast to the Ninja Turtles, who gained unique abilities after being exposed to nuclear waste, Lock Jaw was a turtle who was subjected to human pollution in a bad way, having an uncleaned tank and a graffiti covered shell.
Cultural References[]
This episode has some similarities to the 1993 movie Free Willy.
The aquarium security guard's line "Come on, jaws! Bite me!" is a reference to Steven Spielberg's 1975 film Jaws.
Slimo, the sea snail, can draw a replica of the Mona Lisa with his mucus trail.
