On June 20, 2001, John Rhodes saved his mother, Deanne, from choking on a piece of leftover steak by using the Heimlich maneuver. He credited this episode of Hey Arnold! and specifically the scene where Arnold implements the maneuver in Eugene, who was choking on a hot dog, during the montage.
