When Helga has one of her monologues about Arnold in the school yard, she picks up a flower and picks the petals off one by one, but she never picks the last petal, as it would be a "he loves me not".
While Helga pretends to have amnesia, she calls Arnold many names. These include:
In the classroom segment, a demented version of Teddy Bears' Picnic is heard.
After Arnold and Helga return to the school while she’s pretending to have amnesia, he seems to somehow know her locker combination.
Cultural References[]
Helga rants about sending Arnold "to a galaxy far, far away", a reference to the opening line of the Star Wars movies.
Continuity[]
Arnold sharing his umbrella with Helga mirrors the flashback scene in "Helga on the Couch", where a preschool-aged version of him held an umbrella over her after meeting her for the first time and complimented her on her hairbow.
This episode more or less has a sequel in "April Fool's Day": Arnold unintentionally physically hurts Helga, Helga exaggerates her injury, and Arnold consequently takes care of Helga.
This is the second time that Helga gets hit on the head with a ball. The first time that happened was in “Grudge Match” when her father accidentally hits her with his golf ball.
Production Notes[]
Although this episode premiered in 2009 as re-release, it was produced in 2000 according to the copyright date at the end of the credits.
